Wooster Gets 19-1 No-Hitter vs Lexington
MANSFIELD -- A career day on the mound for Wooster's Chris Franks combined with a 15-hit offensive explosion as the Generals ran over Lexington 19-1 in OCC play.
Franks would go the distance, mowing down 13 Minutemen batters in a game-shortened five-inning span to supply plenty of support for an offense that hung 10 runs on the board over the first three innings. Sophomore 3B Blake Bowen would finish the afternoon 3-3 from the dish with 4 RBI, 2 doubles, 2 walks and scored a run, earning OH.Report Player of the Game honors.
Lexington would eventually get on the board via a wild pitch in the 4th after falling behind 14-0, but 8 Minutemen errors in the game fueled Wooster's potent offense. The story would be Frank's tossing his first career No-Hitter, however, completely toying with Lexington batters throughout the night.
These same two teams will meet again on Wednesday in Wooster.
