Past Woodmore To Sectional Final
OLIVESBURG - - It was a wild night in the Cougar Den as the number five Crestview took on the number 6 Woodmore in a Division III Semifinal matchup that saw the Cougars advance with a 64-57 victory.
The Wildcats (13-7) saw their tournament time come to an end as Crestview (16-7) took a 19-13 advantage into the second as Woodmore had a tough time keeping up with Evan Hamilton. The standout senior led the team with 20 points, but had a difficult time getting shots off in the second half.
Woodmore would close the gap to even heading into the break tied at 26-26, but the Cougars would take control with a 25-point third quarter to own a 51-42 advantage as the game entered the final frame. A stellar performance put on by Heath Kash, scoring hand in hand with Hamilton would help Crestview hold on and advance into the sectional finals.
Kash had 18 points, all of those being three pointers. earning Player of the Game brought to you by Kissel’s lawn care. Coach John Kurtz from Crestview also achieved his 350th career win.
