Crawford Puts Out Willard In District Semi's

The top-seed in the Division III Norwalk District would get knocked out in the semifinals by Colonel Crawford who put out defending champion Willard 59-55.

For first three quarters of action saw the third-seeded Eagles (22-3) seemingly in control of the game as the state-ranked #7 Flashes fell behind 15-9 in the opening frame and trailed by double-digits at 32-22 by halftime. Gavin Feichtner would pour in 11 of his team-high 16 points in the second quarter to help build up Crawford's lead which they maintained entering the fourth on top 46-36.

 

The Eagles would own a 14-point cushion with just over six minutes remaining before District Player of the Year Cooper Parrot started to lead Willard back with 10 of his game-high 21 points down the stretch. The Flashes would trim the deficit down to 52-48 with more than two minutes to go but Crawford would close out the game from the free-throw line to secure a spot in Friday's District final.  

Joining Feichtner in double-figures scoring or the Eagles was Chase Walker with 15 points and Mason Studer 13 while Jordan Fenner put up nine.

 

Myles Pinkson added 14 pts for Willard with Terry Baldridge going for a dozen as the Flashes wrap-up their season at 21-3.

Colonel Crawford (22-3) now advances to face Pemberville Eastwood (18-6) for the District crown who beat Western Reserve in overtime for their finals appearance.
