In the programs 1,001st overall contest, the Shelby girls basketball squad cruised to a 64-34 victory over visiting Norwalk to secure win number 681 in Lady Whippets history.

 

The lopsided meeting also put Shelby at 20 wins as they wrapped-up their regular season with a special senior night celebration. Four players competed in their final home game wearing a Lady Whippets uniform, where Emma Taylor, Jenna Holloway, Cierra Gurney and Bailey Walter combined for 20 points while Emma Randall carried the scoring load with a game-high 21.

 

Shelby (20-2, 14-0) also celebrated their undefeated MOAC Championship with former players and coaches following the win as they now turn their focus towards the OHSAA tournament and a sectional semifinal matchup against Vermilion on Feb 20 at Bucyrus.
