Crestview Handles Western Reserve 35-13
OLIVESBURG -- Crestview got off to a fast start and finished strong in a 35-13 win over defending Firelands Conference champion Western Reserve.
The Cougars (2-1) needed just over a minute to get on the board with Evan Hamilton scoring the first of his two receiving touchdowns on a 49 yard catch and run to capture some early momentum. The Roughriders (1-2) answered with a pair of scoring drives capped-off by short Jude Muenz TD runs to seize a 13-7 advantage.
Led by Player of the Game, senior QB Ross Kuhn, Crestview would rattle off 28 unanswered points including a 21-0 second half showing to knock off Western Reserve. Kuhn finished the night 10-16 for 237 yds & 3 TD’s through the air, adding 11 carries for 81 yds and a TD plus an interception on the defensive side of the ball.
Next up for the Cougars is a trip to winless New London.
