West Holmes Doubles-Up Mansfield Senior 46-23
MANSFIELD -- A battle between the top two teams in the OCC saw West Holmes prove the up and coming Lady Tygers weren't quite ready to challenge for the top spot in the league, smashing Mansfield Senior
46-23 in a wire to wire victory.
The Lady Knights (12-2, 7-0) got out to an early 13-6 lead through one quarter of play, extending their cushion to 23- 13 by the half. Katie Sprang carried the Lady Knights offensively with a game-best 21 points on 9-14 FG's, but a collective team effort at the defensive end would propel West Holmes in the second half.
The Lady Tygers (5-8, 4-3) would turn it over 18 times and finish 9-40 from the floor, as they fell behind
33-20 heading into the fourth where the Knights slammed the door shut. A 13-3 run by West Holmes in the final frame put a bow on a lopsided win to put three games of seperation in between themselves and the rest of the OCC.
