Tigers On Top Of MOAC
with Victory Over Warriors 42-20
The Galion Tigers are on top of the MOAC with a 42-20 victory over the Ontario Warriors.
The Warriors (2-6) controlled the pace for most of the first half leading 7-0 midway through the second quarter on a Jaylon Scott 35-yard run.
The Tigers (7-1) answered with a Trevor O'Brien 16-yard run to tie the score at 7 then took the lead 14-7 before the half on a Wilson Frankhouse 23-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Alsip.
Alsip then caught his second score of the game from 18 yards out to open up the second half and Frankhouse found Carter Smith for a 6-yard score making it 28-7.
The Warriors then cut the lead in half when Kolten Kurtz found Brock Hill on a 62-yard pass play making it 28-14, but the Tigers answered with a Hanif Donaldson 6-yard run pushing their lead back out to 35-14.
Alsip and Frankhouse hooked up one final time in the fourth on a 44-yard pass play while the Warriors Cody Mies scored on a 20-yard run to finish the scoring.
Frankhouse finished the game 14-of-23 passing for 207 yards and 4 touchdowns while Alsip finished with 11 catches for 181 yards and 3 touchdowns while rushing 7 times for 59 yards.
The Tigers drop to 2nd in the Division 4, Region 14 rankings by percentage points behind Wauseon, but will look to get back to the top when they travel to KIPP Columbus on Friday.
