Upper Wins N10 Outright At Carey

For the fourth time in the last five seasons, Upper Sandusky is the outright champions of the Northern 10 Conference with a 59-43 victory at Carey.

The streaking Rams won their 20th straight contest despite a mammoth effort from University of Findlay commit Hayden Stone who dropped eight of his game-high 26 points in the opening quarter to keep the Blue Devils within striking distance at 18-14 and entered halftime in a two-possession game trailing 29-23.

Upper Sandusky (20-1) then created some separation in the third, utilizing a wide range of scoring threats to extend their lead out to 47-34 entering the final eight minutes of play. Carey (11-10) managed just nine fourth quarter points as the Rams put the game out of reach with seven players scoring six or more points to lock up the outright league title.

Outside of Stone's big performance, the Devils scored just 27 points with Isaiah Hoepf accounting for seven, Cade Crawford and Reece Billock each had three while Bryce Conti and Ian Yeater added two each.

Evan Young led the Rams with 15 pts, followed by Gavin Carey with nine, eight by Cam McCreary, Brett Montgomery scored seven with both Trent Beamer and Cade Adams contributing with six apiece.
