Trojans Eliminate Crestline For Sectional Crown
South Central cut down the nets for the second time in a week, following up their Firelands Conference championship with a Division IV Sectional title at Crestview High School as the Trojans slayed Crestline 48-26.
A fast start set the tone for South Central (20-3) who held the Bulldogs to just two points in the opening quarter as they built a 12-point cushion. Crestline (13-11) showed some fight in the second stanza, however, closing the deficit down to 22-17 heading into the break with senior forward Spencer Harley scoring eight of his team-high dozen points in the frame.
A dominant third quarter for the Trojans created some separation on the scoreboard as SC outdueled the Bulldogs 12-4 in the period and closed out a dominating victory by riding District 6 player of the year Simon Blair in the fourth where they held Crestline to just four points for the second straight quarter.
Blair poured in a game-best 22 points with David Lamoreaux adding eight, Isaiah Seidel seven and five from Jackson McCormack. Aside from Harley, the Bulldogs received just six points from program all-time leading scorer Kaden Ronk and four each from Trevor Phillips and Brock Noblet.
Second-seeded South Central now advances to face #3 Norwalk St. Paul in the Willard District Semifinals.
