St. Paul Holds Off Crestview 40-47

OLIVESBURG --- In a critical Firelands conference matchup between its two top teams, second place St. Paul knocked off first place Crestview 50-47 to move even in the loss column in the standings.
The first quarter saw a lot of turnovers for the Cougars (10-3, 8-1 FC) as they could not get a shot off. St. Paul (13-3, 10-1) used the slow start to outscore Crestview 21-4 through eight minutes. The Cougars then got its offense going in the second to trim the Flyers lead down to 11 at halftime.
In the second half, the Cougars were on fire, senior Kennedi Goon helped the comeback scoring 18 of the Cougars 47 points. Junior guard Anna McFarland also helped try and get the win scoring two threes late in the fourth quarter, but unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.
Senior guard for the Flyers Camille Endsley was the Scout Construction player of the game leading the Flyers to the win with 16 points.
