Buckeye Central Rams Upper To Remain Perfect In N10 Play
UPPER SANDUSKY --- The Shelby Whippets all but locked up the top seed in the Division 2 Ashland District after knocking off Upper Sandusky 76-61.
The Whippets (12-2) held a small lead throughout the opening quarter before a late run pushed its lead to 10 at 21-11 after eight minutes.
The Rams (10-7) weren't able to get much closer in the second cutting the deficit to 9, but went into the break trailing 41-29, but it would be a close as they would get as Shelby would use a strong second half run to pull away.
The Whippets were led by TJ Pugh's game high 22 points while Cody Lantz trailed close behind with 20 points. Andre Hill and Jeremy Holloway also scored in double figures with 10 points each.
Upper Sandusky was led by Gavin Carey's 14 points while Trent Beamer scored 13 points. Cade Adams also reached double digits with 12 points.
