Lady Whippets Extend Win Streak With 58-45 Win Over Ontario
SHELBY -- Shelby won their 8th straight game with a 58-45 victory over Ontario to stay in the mix for a third consecutive MOAC championship.
The Lady Whippets (9-3) led from start to finish, building a 16-10 advantage through one quarter of play, and extending their edge to 29-22 by the half with Olivia Baker knocking down four triples. Shelby would then blow open the game with an 18-7 third-quarter spurt where Haylee Baker dropped 10 of her 14 points.
Olivia would splash two more 3-pointers in the second half to give her a game-best 18 pts in the contest with Sydnie Siebertadding 10 for Shelby. Macy Mangan put up 16 for the Lady Warriors (3-8) in a losing effort, while teammate Riley Vavra added nine and Haley Guisinger chipped-in with eight.
