Shelby Over Ontario In MOAC Opener
The Lady Whippets faced off against the Ontario Warriors at home in the first MOAC game of the season on Friday night.
The start of the game for both teams was both strong on defense and offense as Warriors, Carleigh Pearson came out with 8 of her 11 points for the game in the first, ending the first quarter tied with the Whippets 12-12. The Warriors would then build a small lead on the Whippets heading into the half up 29-26.
The 3rd quarter was back and forth with Ontario still ahead by 3 with a 36-33 lead, but Shelby would come back with an amazing 22 points scored in the 4th with leading scorer Sophia Niese netting 7 of her 13 total points and Olivia Baker with 8 out of her 13 points in the 4th leading the Lady Whippets to a victory at home over the Warriors 55-44.
This is the 4th Win for the Lady Whippets.
