Crawford Ices Mohawk 53-38 For 16-0 Start
SYCAMORE -- Colonel Crawford widdled their magic number down to 1 for at least a share of the Northern 10 Conference crown with a 53-38 victory over Mohawk in Sycamore as the state-ranked Eagles remain undefeated on the year at 16-0.
The Warriors (12-4) entered the contest riding a four-game win streak and would get a hoop to beat the first quarter horn for an 11-9 advantage. A defensive battle in the second would see C.C. outscore Mohawk 8-6 to knot things up at 17-17 heading into the locker room at halftime.
The Eagles would make their move in the third as they continued to keep the clamps on at the defensive end of the floor, using a 17-9 run to own a 34-26 edge headed into the fourth. In the final frame, Crawford put their foot on the gas, cruising to a convincing victory with their perfect record still intact.
Three Eagles scored in double-figures with Mason Studer leading the charge with 16 points, followed by Carter Valentine's 13 and Chase Walker with 12 pts to go along with 10 rebounds.
