Huge 3rd Lifts Vikings To 10-7 Win At Ontario
ONTARIO -- A sizzling inning at the plate carried River Valley to a 10-7 victory at Ontario, the first league loss for the Warriors this season.
After falling behind 1-0, the Vikings offense lit the fuse in the third where a 2 RBI single from Mayse followed by Dranshak & Garrison RBI doubles and an RBI single by Clausing put Ontario in a 6-1 hole. River Valley would then go up 9-2 in their offensive half of the sixth before a Warriors rally made things interesting late.
A huge sixth in the batter's box for Ontario saw Kyle Walters and Chase Studer drive in runs, while Gage Weaver brought home two with a single to pull the Warriors within 9-7 entering the final inning. An insurance run from Garrison extended the Vikings edge in the top half of the frame and Ontario couldn't answer, creating a log jam in the middle of the MOAC standings.
