Lady Rams Out-Slug Ontario 10-6 At Districts
WILLARD -- Madison knocked the cover off the softball early in a 10-6 victory over cross-county rival Ontario for a spot in the D2 District Championship at Willard.
Before the 4th-seeded Warriors could even blink, it was 4-0 in the top of the first with the Lady Rams getting RBI singles from Schulz, Lyons and Reiter. Bri Bowles would then deliver the early blow with a grand slam dinger in the second for an 8-0 Madison advantage.
Ontario would begin to dig themselves out of a 9-run hole with a four-run fifth inning, highlighted by a 3-run Hallie Ciroli bomb to center. The senior RF would add another RBI in the sixth to make it 10-6, but that’s as close as the Warriors could get with the #5 Lady Rams knocking out 14 hits on the night. Madison now advances to face #3 Clear Fork for the Willard District title.
