Colts, Warriors Play Extra Inning Thriller
BELLVILLE --- Eleven innings were not enough for Clear Fork and Ontario as two of the top teams in the MOAC played until dusk without a winner in a 10-10 game.
The Colts (8-8, 4-3 MOAC) struck first in the first and second to take a 3-0 lead, but errors opened up the door for the Warriors (7-9, 4-2 MOAC) who put a five-spot up in the third to take a 5-3 advantage.
Clear Fork answered in the fourth to tie things at 5, but once again errors allowed Ontario to gain the upper hand with an 8-5 lead after 4 1/2.
The Colts then played small ball to chip away for a run in the sixth to make it 8-6. They then had runners on second and third with two out in the bottom of the seventh when Ben Blubaugh sent a single up the middle to tie the game at 8 and force extra innings.
Both teams then exchanged a run in the eighth and tenth innings before darkness shut things down after the eleventh inning.
Date and Time for the resumption of the game is TBD.
