Rams Comeback Trumps Tygers In 8th
MANSFIELD -- Late-game heroics sparked a Madison comeback at cross-town rival Mansfield Senior's place where the Rams plated 5 unanswered runs in a 5-3 victory.
Coming off their first win of the season, the Tygers rolled over some momentum into the start of the game, building a 3-0 edge in the first with RBI from Goad, Sanders and Blackstone. Meanwhile pitcher Quintin Little and the Senior High defense were keeping the Rams at bay, giving up a run each in the 3rd and 5th inning to remain in front at 3-2 entering the 7th inning stretch.
Kaden Mullins then blasted a solo homerun over the towering left field wall to even the score at 3-3 and force extra innings. In their offensive half of the 8th, Madison's Jarrett Mandusic came through with a 2 RBI double that Mansfield couldn't match, notching the Rams second win of the season.
