Mohawk Gets 18th Straight Sectional Title
SYCAMORE-- Mohawk was looking for their 18th straight sectional championship and the Lady Warriors would get it as they beat South Central 6-2.
Both pitchers were in a groove through the first few innings with Mohawk only allowing 6 hits and 2 earned runs with 7 strikeouts during the contest.
The Lady Warriors would strike first to get on the board too as they got 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd for an early advantage. However, the Trojans would tie things up with Liz Music and Kailee Beavers both delivering RBI singles to get South Central on the board.
Mohawk would be too much in the next few innings from the plate, though, getting an RBI double from Paiyton Clouse who would later score in the inning off of a South Central error to make it 4-2.
Mohawk would put things away in the bottom of the 6th by capitalizing on a pair South Central miscues that would send 2 Warriors across the plate to extend their lead, and help continue their string of trips to Districts.
