SANDUSKY -- The Lucas Cubs are heading back to Districts with a 52-38 upset win over #4 Sandusky St. Mary Central Catholic on the road for a D4 Sectional championship.

Playing their patented lockdown defense, Lucas (17-7) would hold the potent Panthers offense in check for the entire first half, holding an 18-15 advantage heading into the break. The Cubs lead expanded to 35-25 entering the final frame where St Mary CC (11-9) attempted to rally back, but were answered by Lucas at every turn.

#5 Lucas now advances to face #1 South Central ( 16-6) in the D4 Willard District semifinals.
