Lady Tygers BIG 3rd Busts Wooster 39-36
MANSFIELD -- A chilly shooting performance by Mansfield Senior in the first half was trumped by an impressive third quarter as the Lady Tygers won their 5th game in 7 tries with a 39-36 victory over Wooster.
The Lady Generals (2-8) took advantage of poor offensive production by Senior High, claiming an 11-7 edge through the first quarter and led 18-15 at the break. Following a slow start to the third, Mansfield Senior (5-7) started to build some offensive momentum with freshman Kiersten Bradley leading the charge.
Bradley, who earned Mechanics Bank Player of the Game honors, scored all of her game-best 14 points in the second half as she fueled an 18-9 third-quarter run to give Senior High a 33-27 cushion entering the fourth quarter. With Norah Levy and Tori Pettorini catching fire late, the Lady Generals would have possession with a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds but couldn't make the big shot as the Lady Tygers held on for victory on the second night of a back-to-back.
