
Redbirds Soar Over Bulldogs 53-49
CRESTLINE -- The Loudonville Redbirds took a tight victory over the Crestline Bulldogs, 53-49 in Mid-Buckeye Conference play.
Both schools showed up and showed out with the Redbirds owning a 17-16 advantage through one quarter of action before outscoring the Bulldogs 14-6 in the 2nd period. Coming out of the halftime break, Crestline would be ignited by senior Ethan Clark who had back to back to back impressive plays. Clark took a charge then knocked down a deep triple to cut the lead down to 1 after the 3rd quarter.
A 40-39 nailbiter entering the 4th saw the two sides going back and forth, knocking down bucket after bucket. However, Loudonville would go on to hit 7 free throws in the fourth to secure a victory.
For the Bulldogs Brock Noblet led them with 13 points as Calvin Reed scored nine. Eight Redbirds would get in the scoring category including freshman Kyle Maltrich who knocked down two late buckets to take the win. Jacob Gessner and Chuck Ganson each scored eight points while Camden Stanton added nine to push the Redbirds to a key MBC win on the road.
