Shelby Dismantles Lexington 54-29
SHELBY -- The Shelby winning streak ballooned to nine straight with a beat down of cross-county rival Lexington, 54-29, taking control of the contest from the opening tip.
Nine different Lady Whippets got in the scoring column with Sydnie Seibert scoring all six of her points in the first to help give Shelby a 12-6 lead. Sophie Niese then scored six of her 11 in the second, increasing the Lady Lex deficit to 22-12 at the break.
The third quarter is where the Lady Whippets blew open the game, with the Baker twins combining for 15 of
the squads 18 points in the frame to own a commanding 40-18 advantage heading into the fourth where
Shelby cruised to a lopsided victory.
Olivia Baker scored a dozen with sister Haylee adding 10 to lead the Lady Whippets offensive attack while Lexi Blasbergput up nine points to pace Lady Lex.
