Lady Lex Completes Dramatic 4-3 Win At Ashland
ASHLAND -- Lexington completed a dramatic 4-3 comeback at Ashland despite their struggles at the dish for the majority of the game.
The Arrows would strike early by putting up two runs in the bottom of the first and then locking it down in the field. The home squad would hold Lexington scoreless through 6 innings before the OCC frontrunners came alive on the offensive end.
All that Lex needed was one inning to get things back on track, and they would load the bases loaded and eventually drive home the game-tying run on a huge double into left field in the top of the 7th frame. That two-RBI double would force extra innings where Lexington would stay hot by adding two more to their total, finally shifting the momentum in their favor and putting the pressure on the Arrows.
Ashland looked ready to send the game into another extra inning with the tying run at second base but with an immaculate diving catch for the final out, Lexington would survive and secure the win after 8 innings.
