#1 Keystone Takes Out Madison For Regional
TIFFIN -- The top-ranked team in the state played like it in a 12-2 win over Madison at the D2 Regional Final in Tiffin where Keystone punched their ticket to the Final Four.
The Wildcats (31-1) jumped out to a quick 3-0 edge through two innings before adding three more runs in the third. The Lady Rams (17-15) found themselves trailing 7-0 before pitcher Bailey Lyons drilled a 2-run homer for Madison's only scores of the game.
Lily Cassell allowed just three Rams hits, walked one and struck out five on her way to the win, while Keystone was also raking for 12 hits and 9 RBI. The bottom of the fifth is where the Cats put the game away with Morgan Modock slapping a 2 RBI shot the put her on third, and she would later score. After a walk loaded the bases, Kerrigan Williams stole home plate to seal the title for the Cats.
Keystone will now advance to face John Glenn in the State Semifinals in Akron. Madison will graduate two seniors in Paige Eldridge and Paige Mowry.
