Lady Indians Win 4th Straight, Clip Highland
MOUNT GILEAD -- The red hot Lady Indians continued to add to their win streak with a 47-33 victory over Highland in KMAC play.
The first quarter was a heavyweight bout of fighters going back and forth with the contest tied at 12 heading into the second. Mt Gilead began to build a lead in period 2 as Holly Gompf started to heat up from deep to give the Indians a 3-point halftime cushion.
Mt Gilead came out of the break on a 7-2 run only allowing 5 points to the Scots in 3rd quarter action as the Lady Indians suffocated Highland by forcing turnovers and opening up fastbreak opportunities. After 3 the score was 35-23 before the 4th quarter became the Holly Gompf show. The senior led the Indians with 18 points to earn Player of the Game honors, improving to 10-4 on the season and 7-4 in the KMAC.
