Centerburg Stays Perfect In KMAC
CENTERBURG -- Centerburg Stays Perfect In KMAC, K.O. Highland 55-47
It was a tight game for the first half, but the kings of the KMAC took control over the final two frames as Centerburg knocked off Highland 55-47 to remain undefeated in league play at 12-0.
The Fighting Scots (5-13) would seize an early first quarter lead before a late charge by the Trojans (14-2) put them in front 13-10 to start the second quarter. Mick Mead would later drill a near half court shot just before the halftime horn for a 27-23 cushion before the Trojans took control of the game in the third.
Centerburg would push their edge out to 41-34 heading into the fourth with senior Carter Jones dominating in the paint with a 17-point double-double. The Trojans then put away their free throws down the stretch as Highland never challenged for the lead, earning another league victory to stay alone atop the KMAC.
