Local Soccer District Showdowns
The road to Mapfre Stadium is heating up as area girls soccer teams head into district tournament play.
Division 1
The Ashland Lady Arrows season came to a close on Monday night as the OCC Champions fell to sixth-seeded Perrysburg 2-0. Ashland ends the season with a record of 11-4-3.
Division 2
For the second consecutive year it will be an all-Richland County District Tournament.
The top-seeded Madison Lady Rams face 4th-seeded Clear Fork on Wednesday at 5:00 PM.
The Lady Rams (13-1-4) cruised through the sectional defeating Mansfield Senior (10-0) and Galion (10-0). The Lady Colts (11-4-2) used a second-half surge to knock off Norwalk 3-0 in its sectional final.
Madison defeated Clear Fork 3-1 in their first match of the season.
Second-seeded Lady Lex faces the third-seeded Ontario Lady Warriors on Wednesday at 7:00 PM. Lexington (13-3-1) knocked off Vermilion 10-1 in its sectional title match while the Lady Warriors (12-3-2) defeated Perkins 10-0 in its sectional final.
Lady Lex defeated Ontario 4-2 back in August on Futbol Friday Night to open the regular seaon.
Division 3
The second-seeded Crestview Lady Cougars face third-seeded Mansfield Christian on Tuesday at 6:00 PM. The Lady Cougars (16-1-1) defeated Ada (8-1) and Willard (22-0) in is sectional while the Lady Flames (10-6-1) knocked off Van Buren 4-1 to make it to Districts.
This will be the third match between these two this year as Crestview has taken the first two 3-1 and 3-2.
