The Galion Tigers took a trip to the Whippets home diamond for a MOAC matchup that would end with Shelby on top 6-5. Galion would get on the board first putting up runs in the top of the 2nd and the top of the 3rd to make it 3-0 in favor of the Tigers. After this the bats would go cold for both teams as there wasn’t another score till the bottom of the 6th. That's when Shelby would strike and put up three runs. With a little help from Galions pitcher the Whippets were able to tie the ball game at 3 and send this one to extras. After a defense heavy 8th Galion would crack the code and put up another two runs to put themselves in the driver's seat. Going into the bottom of the 9th Shelby would face an uphill battle but some good batting put men in scoring position.
