SHELBY -- For the second consecutive season, Shelby has claimed the MOAC championship, defeating Galion 98-40 for an outright conference title.

T.J. Pugh had a huge offensive night for the Whippets, posting a game-high 34 points with 18 coming in the first half of play. Shelby built a 23-15 advantage in the first, extending their lead to 47-23 by the halftime break.

Cody Lantz added 24 points for the Whippets with 18 coming in the second half as the Tigers deficit grew to 81-33 heading into the fourth where they would be outscored 17-7.

Shelby (16-2, 10-0) will next face River Valley for the chance to finish unbeaten in the league for a second straight year while Galion (0-19, 0-11) will take on Buckeye Central seeking their first win
