Fredericktown Drops Mt Gilead 45-38
Takes Over 2nd in KMAC
MT. GILEAD -- Fredericktown and Mt. Gilead met both riding win streaks of 4 or more but the athletic Freddies overcame a mess of turnovers for a 45-38 road victory to secure 2nd in the KMAC.
The Lady Indians (12-5) offense sputtered from the start, netting just three points in the opening quarter.
The Freddies (13-4) lead would get trimmed to 19-17 by the break but Player of the Game Summer Weller gave Fredericktown big momentum at the end of the third with a deep 3 for a 39-27 lead.
Receiving 0 points from leading scorer Holly Gompf , Mt. Gilead pushed but couldn't overcome the deficit late, as Fredericktown gave it away 26 times on turnovers but survived on top.
