Flames Ride Schmitz's 20 Over Comets

MANSFIELD -- Mansfield Christian is off to a 3-1 start with a 46-38 victory over Kidron Central Christian in Mid-Buckeye Conference play with senior Elle Schmitz sparking the Lady Flames.

The Comets got out to a 10-7 advantage heading into the second quarter where Schmitz poured in a dozen points to give MC a 27-21 halftime lead. Another convincing frame in the third extended the Flames cushion to 37-27 before coasting to victory in the fourth.

Schmitz finished with a game-tops 20 points with Alexis Rippel joining her in double-figures with 10. Central Christan received 11 points each from Sophie Pertee and Emma Mast.
