Freddies Start Hot, Hold Off East Knox 59-51
FREDERICKTOWN -- Fredericktown built a massive first half lead to help knock off East Knox 59-51 in KMAC play, holding off a strong fourth quarter run by the Lady Dogs.
The Bulldogs struggled to get shots off in the first quarter, only scoring a total of 4 points to carry over into the second frame. Fredericktown’s zone defense forced several E.K. turnovers and made it difficult for them to get clean looks in their half-court sets, as the Freddies took a commanding 31-16 edge into the break.
The third quarter saw Fredericktown inflate their advantage to 19 points heading into the fourth, but East Knox would put together a nice stretch to trim the deficit down to single-digits. However, because of fouls and the inability to control the ball in crucial moments, and the continued pressure from Fredericktown, the Bulldogs comeback would fall well short on the road.
For Fredericktown, Gabby Daniels was the player of the game, scoring 18 points to lead the Freddies to victory. Enjoy the full broadcast with Storm Bluntschly and Garret Parlett on the call on the video above.
