LUCAS -- The Lucas Cubs are moving on to the D4 Sectional Championship with an 81-61 victory over Danbury, fueled by a monster 2nd quarter and big night by Ethan Sauder.

With Laker (2-21) junior guard Bradley Murray roasting out of the gates with 14 of his game-high 31 points in the first quarter, 12th-seeded Danbury would hang tough with the 5th-seeded Cubs, trailing 21-14 at the end of one. In the second quarter is where Lucas (16-7) made their move, pushing their foot on the gas at the defensive end while knocking down shots to build a 44-21 halftime edge.

The third and fourth quarters would be a fun battle with Danbury owning a 40-35 scoring advantage, but the damage was already done. Sauder would finish with a team-high 21 pts to go along with several great assists and steals to earn Player of the Game honors.
