Lucas Rolls To Playoff Win In 1st Home Game

A taste of home cooking was part of a winning recipe for Lucas who dominated Cuyahoga Heights 35-0 in their second-round playoff win playing at Bob Wine Field for the first time all season.

Following a first-round bye, the second-seeded Cubs (5-2) had a bit of a sluggish return to action with a slim 7-0 lead over the #15 Redskins (2-5) late in the second quarter before a game-changing 57-yard touchdown run by Connor Harper made it a two-score advantage just before the break. In the second half a combination of stout defense and a physical running attack helped Lucas pull away for a shutout victory, advancing the Cubs to the Division VII Region 25 Quarterfinals.
