Western Reserve Runs By Crestview
Into District Championship
SHELBY -- Second-seeded Western Reserve blew out Firelands Conference rival Crestview for the third time this season, crushing the Cougars 87-53 for a trip to the Division III Shelby District championship.
#5 Crestview (17-8) hung tough for most of the first quarter before District 6 Player of the Year Luke Rowlinson started to take over the contest for the Roughriders. The senior guard lit it up for 21 first-half points to give Western Reserve (18-2) a 54-29 cushion and that's all the points they would need.
Rowlinson finished with 25 points to earn Player of the Game honors as the Roughriders built a 73-42 edge heading into the final quarter where coach Chris Sheldon emptied his bench as they will now advance to face #3 Willard for the district title.
