Northmor Tames Crestline 9-2 In Battle Of 5-1 Teams
NORTH BLOOMFIELD --- The Northmor Golden Knights took advantage of Crestline miscues and made a couple key defensive plays to knock off the Bulldogs 9-2 in a battle of 5-1 squads.
The Golden Knights (6-1) struck first in the bottom of the first with runs by Max and JP Lower, but the Bulldogs (5-2) answered with two in the top of the second with runs by Tadda and Cochran.
Crestline could have added more had it not been for a perfect throw to the plate by PJ Lower from center field as he fielded a sharp grounder and threw a perfect strike to gun down the runner.
Northmor then pulled away in the bottom of the inning with five runs as PJ Lower knocked home Bryce Cooper. Griffin Workman next scored when Grant Bentley was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Max Lower followed via a passed ball and PJ Lower and Workman scored on a dropped fly ball making it 7-2.
The Golden Knights added two more runs along the way and limited the Bulldogs on the basepaths for its second straight victory since dropping their first game of the season to Centerburg on Monday.
