Week 11 East Knox High School
#6 Crestview vs #3 East Knox
Courgars Blocked By Bulldogs 21-20
The East Knox Bulldogs escaped its Regional Quarterfinal defeating Crestview 21-20 on Friday night.
The sixth-seeded Cougars struck first midway through the opening quarter on a 17-yard pass play from Ross Kuhn to Evan Hamilton making it 7-0.
The third-seeded Bulldogs answered just over three minutes later as Caleb Gallwitz went 32 yards on a screen pass from Kadden Lester tying the game at seven, which was the score at the half.
East Knox then took the lead out of the break on Gallwitz's second score of the game, an 84-yard run, giving the Bulldogs a 14-7 lead, but Crestview immediately answered as Evan Hamilton took the ensuing kickoff 75 yards to the house tying the game back up at 14 apiece.
Gallwitz then finished the Bulldogs scoring with a 1-yard rush, his third score of the night, making it 21-14, but once again, the Cougars answered with a Sage Bath 1-yard run, but the extra point was blocked making it 21-20 East Knox with 5:51 left.
Crestview then got the ball back with time running out and had a 22-yard game-winning field goal attempt, but the kick sailed wide right.
The Bulldogs advance to the Regional Semifinal where they will face second-seeded Seneca East on Friday at 7:00 PM at a site to be determined by the OHSAA.
