Game 1: Clear Fork Handles Madison 10-4
BELLVILLE --- The Clear Fork Lady Colts handled business in game one of a tournament tune-up doubleheader knocking off Madison 10-4.
The Lady Colts (16-7) struck first in the first for a quick 2-0 lead and extended it to 3-0 in the third on a throwing error.
Clear Fork then added two more in the fifth on back-to-back RBI groundouts before the Lady Rams (11-13) finally broke through in the fifth with three consecutive singles to start the frame resulting in a 5-3 deficit.
The Lady Colts answered in a big way in the bottom of the sixth taking advantage of Madison miscues to put up a five-spot and a 10-3 lead heading to the seventh.
The Lady Rams would get a one-out solo home run, but nothing else in the seventh to finish the scoring.
Game 2 : Lady Colts Walk Off Lady Rams In 9
BELLVILLE --- The Clear Fork Lady Colts finished off a doubleheader sweep of Madison with a 9-8 9 inning walk-off.
The Lady Colts (17-7) took a 1-0 first-inning lead that was immediately answered by a 5-run Lady Ram second to give Madison (11-14) a 5-1 lead.
Clear Fork started chipping away with two runs in the bottom of the second, one in the third, and two in the fourth to take a 6-5 lead.
The Lady Rams then answered with one in the fifth and two in the sixth to take an 8-6 lead which was a short-lived advantage as the Lady Colts scored twice in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 8.
The two offenses quieted down until the bottom of the ninth when Clear Fork was able to load the bases and walk off for the victory.
