CENTERBURG --- The Columbus Academy Lady Vikings held off a second half Centerburg Lady Trojans surge to advance to a Division 3 Central District Sectional Final 34-28.

The 12th-seeded Lady Vikings jumped out to an 18-9 halftime lead thanks to a 50% shooting performance from beyond the arc while holding the 14th-seeded Lady Trojans to 0 points over the games first 7 minutes.

​

Centerburg would start a comeback in the third quarter outscoring Columbus Academy 13-9 to cut its deficit to 5 at 27-22 after three.

​

They then cut the led to one possession at 30-27 late in the fourth, but a 4-1 run to finish propelled the Lady Vikings to a date with #2 Cardington-Lincoln on Saturday night for a sectional championship.

​

Columbus Academy was led by Claire Cahall's 11 points while Kayla McClendon followed with 9 points.

​

The Lady Trojans were led by Amelia Smith's game high 12 points while Chloe Goulter followed with 8 points.
