Keinath Gem Boosts Galion Past Clear Fork 2-1
GALION --- The Galion Tigers got a gem from starter Carter Keinath to defeat the Clear Fork Colts 2-1 for a series split.
Keinath went the distance for the Tigers (7-3, 4-2 MOAC) allowing one run on four hits while striking out two and got just enough offense as Colts starter Brock Talbott and Co. were almost as good for Clear Fork (4-5, 2-2 MOAC) as he and two other pitchers combined to give up only two runs (one earned) on seven hits.
Galion scored first in the bottom of the fourth on a Spencer Miller RBI groundout, but the Colts immediately answered in the top of the fifth on a Ben Blubaugh RBI single.
The Tigers got the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth when Troy Manning reached on an error, moved to third on a single, and scored on a Matthew McMullen RBI single.
