WILLARD ---  The Clear Fork Lady Colts scored four times late to knock off Bellevue 4-2 in a D2 Willard District Semifinal.

 

The #2 Lady Red struck for a run in the first when Kearston Lundsford scored on a throwing error. They then made it 2-0 in the second on a Kyra Henney solo home run.

 

#3 Clear Fork had a chance to cut into the lead in the third but a perfect play at the plate kept them off the board.

 

They would finally break on in the fifth with two on and two out when Hallie Gottfried sent a ball off the right-centerfield fence to clear the bases and tie the game at 2.

 

Bellevue then looked to answer in the sixth loading the bases with no out. Lady Colts pitcher Ashtynn Roberts then calmly got a force at home, strikeout and groundout to short to end the threat and leave the game tied.

 

Her offense rewarded her in the top of the seventh when Reghan Barker led the inning off with a single and one batter later scored the go-ahead run on a Courtney Palmer RBI triple. Gottfried then hit a sac fly to make it 4-2 which was plenty for Roberts, who worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the seventh to end it.

 

Clear Fork moves on to Friday's District Championship where they will face #5 Madison, who defeated #4 Ontario 10-6 in the other semifinal. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
