South Central vs Clear Fork
Blair Hits OT Game-Winner At Clear Fork
A back and forth battle between Clear Fork and South Central at the Colt Corral ended with a 3-point dagger from senior All-Ohioan Simon Blair, lifting the Trojans to a 55-53 victory in overtime.
Both teams started slow offensively with each only scoring seven 1st quarter points before South Central outscored the Colts 10-8 in the second to hold a slim 17-15 halftime lead. Each would find their groove in the 3rd quarter, though, where Ethan Delany dropped 10 of his team-best 15 points to boost Clear Fork ahead at 37-35.
With David Lamoreaux netting seven of his 13 points in the final frame, the Trojans had a narrow lead with the clock winding down but a perfect set play would lead to a Delany bucket to force an extra session. In overtime, South Central would build a five-point cushion before the Colts went on a 7-2 run to claim a 53-52 edge with under 10 seconds to play.
Blair would then take the rebound from a Delaney miss at the stripe and dribble into an open 3-pointer from the top of the key which he knocked down for a game-high 31 points and secured a 3-0 start to the season for his Trojans.
South Central will next open Firelands Conference play at home against New London while 1-1 Clear Fork will host Ontario in their MOAC opener.
