Amherst Steele Handles Madison 7-3

ASHLAND -- Saturday was set to recap the Wendy’s Spring Classic for 2021, Madison Vs Amherst Steele squared off where Amherst would come out on top 7-3 and claim the Pool A crown. Madison came out in the 3rd inning and tacked on a couple of runs as Emily Nolan hit an RBI as well as Olivia Schulz as Madison held a 2-0 for just a short while. Amherst would come out swinging in the next half inning as the Comets got two runs off an RBI single from LaCie Stottlemire. It was all nodded at 2 apiece after 3.

 

The Lady Comets would get a huge hit from Lindsey Reavis who had a 3 run RBI triple to get the advantage over the Rams in the bottom of the 5th. Amherst would add 1 more run in the bottom of 5 behind McKenzie Cornwell’s RBi groundout. Amherst would grab another run in the bottom of the 6th from an RBI double from Cassidy Kettleman. Making it 7-2 heading into the final inning of play.

 

Madison would give it all they had as they picked up a late RBI from Paige Eldridge but it wouldn’t be enough as the lady Rams would fall 7-3. Amherst Steele would be crowned Pool A champions at the Wendy’s Spring Classic.
