LEXINGTON -- The top-ranked team in Division II remains undefeated after a heavyweight matchup at #4 Lexington on Saturday night, as Bay earned a 2-0 victory for a 7-0 start to their season.
The victory served as a bit of revenge for the Rockets after the Minutemen (5-2-0) ended their perfect 2019 campaign with an upset win over Bay in the Regional Semifinals who entered the game with a spotless 19-0 mark.
Brock Pickett continued his amazing season with the first goal of the match, his 14th goal of the season that gave Bay a 1-0 cushion at the half. Danny Kruzer then pushed the Rockets advantage to 2-0 less than four minutes into the second half and played solid the rest of the way to preserve the victory.
Lexington generated only a handful of scoring chances throughout the contest and were unable to beat keeper Alec Carras who has surrendered just one goal all season.
The Minutemen will look to bounce back at home against Madison on Tuesday in a rematch of last year's District Championship while Bay tries to stay undefeated when they travel to Holy Name on Weds.
